Beyond Expectations Child Development Center (BECDC) has been open since 2010, providing high-quality childcare and… ANSWERING THE CALL OF DUTY FOR OUR COMMUNITY’S CHILDREN. 

Our mission is to go beyond expectations in our community to promote literacy, physical, emotional, and cognitive development for all children from infancy to preschool. 

Our greatest achievement is giving children the building blocks that foster confidence in their abilities and an enthusiasm for learning. We encourage children to be well-rounded learners, make independent choices, and act responsibly as they explore their environment at BECDC.

We believe that a Quality Early Childhood Program such as ours meets children where they are and provides them with the tools they need to succeed. BECDC offers the following services to all children, including special needs children, from 6 weeks old to 13 years old:

  • Extensive Hours: 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • FREE Preschool Program (GSRP) for qualified 4 years old
  • Nutritious Snack and Meals Daily
  • Developmental Screening
  • Dental, Hearing and Vision Support
  • Prenatal services for pregnant women
  • DHHS Local transportation*

Our Philosophy
Childhood is a unique and valuable stage of human development. We are committed to supporting children’s social, emotional, physical and educational development, respecting individual differences, and helping children learn to live and play cooperatively. We strive to promote children’s health, self-awareness, competence, self worth and resiliency.

Our Curriculum
In the HighScope Preschool Curriculum, learning is focused on the following eight content areas, which are based on the dimensions of school readiness identified by the National Education Goals Panel. HighScope’s curriculum content areas are:

While learning in these content areas prepares children for later schooling, HighScope takes the learning process beyond traditional academic subjects by applying methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem solving in young children.
